An update on Tenneh from Jana, a mom who is in Liberia now to bring home her new daughter!
Tenneh is new to the home and very shy. her pictures don't do her justice. She doesn't speak English to Jana. She is 42 inches.
HollyAnn's explanation to me about the speaking part:
Carolee, they speak English in Nimba....but she is from the Monrovia area now. My guess is that she may have a heavy tribal accent. The three that I had here with me were from Nimba. I could understand almost everything they said...even when they were talking to each other...but no one else could. When they started talking to each other, people would ask me what language they were speaking..I would smile and say, English. The inquirer would then just look me with a puzzled look. So it is probably English...just may take a little more time to lose the stronger accent. She will probably understand everything you say....but will take you a little longer

Woo Hoo for you and your family! Seriously, we so need to get some plane tickets ordered after these girls get home and the dust settles. McKia can hardly wait to see your girls. She just knows that Tenneh will be as wonderful as sweet Mary.
That is so great that you learned a little more about Tenneh!
