Got my bloodtest results back today,
and a call from the doctor. The normal range for TSH, which measures your thyroid's production of hormone is between 0.5 and 5 or so. My test results revealed that my level was at 46.5. Very high number, which correlates to a very low hormone level, diagnosing me with 'Hypo thyroidism'. Went for the ultrasound appointment, where they found that I have a large swelling of the thyroid, and that it is very asymetrical, which means there is no growth or abnormal nodules, just a goiter, which is what happens when your thyroid is working so hard and cannot produce enough hormone.
I am so relieved, as it is easy to treat, and I was prescribed Levoxyl 100 MCG tablets which are small and easy to swallow. Side effects can be a fast heart rate, dizziness and feeling kind of irritable and wound up. I am already feeling that way, and a bit afraid of what might happen, but have an appointment tomorrow to see a homeopathic specialist to find out what she thinks might help me.
