From my devotional calendar for yesterday, January 30, 2008:

God, we have so many questions and so few answers. Reveal to us Your will. Show us Your path and give us the wisdom to follow it. Feed us Your Word, God. Educate us in Your ways.
When the questions of life are confusing or overwhelming, remind us to wait on You, the One who has all the answers. Amen

For I want you to know.....a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col. 22:1-3 NASB

Devotional for today, January 31, 2008

Sacrifice and prayer compliment each other. There is no prayer without sacrifice, and there is no sacrifice without prayer.
That is what Jesus has shown us. Jesus' life was spent in intimate union with His Father as He passed through this world doing good. We need to do the same. Mother Teresa

Do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews 13:16 NASB

From my Experiencing God devotional calendar for today, January 31, 2008

"Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, 'Thus says your son Joseph; God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry.'" Gen. 45:9

Surely Jacob had a hard time accepting an invitation to leave God's promised land. Had God forgotten His promise to Abraham after only two generations? God's invitation leads to unlikely places. Is the place God chose causing you to ignore the invitation?

God, You rule the world and work in all its parts. I am too comfortable in the one part I know so well? Are you calling me to an unlikely place, a place I would never imagine going? Speak to me. Show me Your purpose. I will go. Amen.
